Sting Ray Robb has the coolest name in motorsports. As an up and coming driver in the NTT IndyCar Series racing for AJ Foyt, he’s looking to build on his junior level career experience and work towards getting to Victory Lane. At the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach this year, we had the opportunity to chat with Robb in the driver’s lounge of the team’s transporter. He tells us how he got his name, his background in racing as well as highlighting his new sponsor for this year. He tells us how important his faith is to him as well as the rest of the paddock.

NOTE: Robb qualified 25^th and finished in 18^th at Long Beach. At the Indy 500, Robb led the third most number of laps behind the pole-sitter Scott McLaughlin and winner Josef Newgarden. He would eventually finish16th. The big drama for Robb came in the second race of the Iowa double-header where he ran into the back of a slowing Alexander Rossi on the last lap and got launched high into the air and skidded upside down on his roll bar showering the track with sparks. Although he was taken away in an ambulance and sent to the hospital for a follow-up, he was uninjured. Also of note, it was announced on August 13, 2024 that David Malukas has been signed to the team for 2025 and beyond. No word if Robb or his teammate Santino Ferrucci will be staying with the team for next year. . . although Robb made a case for himself to stay by leading eight laps and earning a top ten finish (9^th) on the Gateway oval August 17, 2024.

Robb gets ready to enter the Turn 11 hairpin at Long Beach. This is a challenging section of the track as you go from turning left and braking in Turn 10 to full right turn lock to make it through the hairpin and get down the long front stretch.
