James Nazarian Jr. is the Large Project Leader Commercial Motorsports for Honda Racing Corporation located in Santa Clarita, California. At last year’s 2023 Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach, he gave us a walkaround on “the Beast” Honda CR-V race car. This year, he did the same for their all-new Acura Integra Type S DE5 race car designed to be raced in the SRO TC America Championship in the TCX class. This event was only a few days after the Integra made its racing debut at Sonoma Raceway where it earned a couple of podium finishes! Nazarian talks about that and also some of the details that make this car special. You can follow along with the photos below. Enjoy!

James Nazarian is keeping busy with super cool Acura projects from HRC headquarters in Santa Clarita, California.

This beautiful Acura Integra Type S race car is perfectly at home on the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach street course.

The custom carbon fiber hood with huge vents is a critical component to the Integra Type S DE5 race car.

A close-up view of the air intakes for brake ducting is also used to feed air to the turbocharger intercoolers.

The fabulous bodywork on this Acura race car is mainly stock. The hood and rear wing are two exceptions.

Besides the Pirelli P Zero tires, you can also see the high-performance brakes with unique curved slots. Also note the brake caliper temperature indicator strip which is useful for gathering data.

The rear wing mounts directly to the stock trunk lid and is adjustable in multiple ways for tuning rear downforce.

The triple carbon tipped Borla exhaust system is a striking feature on the rear of the Integra that is flanked by the stock rear diffuser panel.

The OMP steering wheel has numerous buttons and controls for the driver to activate. On the lower left is the traction control knob and to the right is the ABS adjustment knob. Paddle shifters behind the steering wheel along with a MOTEC dash are some of the other features for the driver to use. Note the extensive roll cage designed and built by HRC.

With up to 360 hp on tap from the K20 engine, this Integra is no slouch when it comes to rocketing down the track.
