Racing License
FastLane Raceschool’s SCCA licensing program is the most accessible way to obtain a full competition race license. Our novice and full competition schools are intense, multi-day courses designed to prepare drivers for SCCA sanctioned track events and teach them the skills needed to win.
Overview
Step 1: Car Control
Learn the ins and outs of high-speed track driving through classroom discussion and instructor led on track sessions.
Step 2: Novice School
Start practicing the specific skills needed to become competitive on the track through this two-day program. After passing this, you will be eligible for your SCCA Novice permit.
Step 3: Full Competition
Master the skills your learned in our novice course while practicing advanced, wheel-to-wheel driving techniques. Upon successfully passing this course you’ll be eligible to race in any SCCA sanctioned event.
Step 4: Go Racing!
Now that you’re a licensed racer it’s time to hit the track! FastLane has tons of courses, services, and experiences perfect for showcasing your new-found skills.

Felix Rosenqvist has been winning races and championships in a wide variety of cars throughout his career including being a winner and multiple pole-winner in the NTT IndyCar Series. Fresh off of his first oval pole position at Texas Motor Speedway for his Arrow McLaren SP racing team (AMSP), he spent some time with me before the 2022 Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach (where he qualified fourth and finished in 11
th
after some tire degradation issues and getting hit by Alex Rossi). In the interview, he gets into the details of using a simulator and how that helps prepare him for going fast right away on the race track. Enjoy! NOTE: Rosenqvist loomed large in the silly season rumors as he was re-signed to a contract extension with Arrow McLaren SP. AMSP also signed Rossi for 2023 and perhaps Alex Palou. Where does that leave Rosenqvist? Possibly, staying where he’s at, moving to the team’s Formula E program or???

Felix Rosenqvist gets a fist bump full of encouragement from the Firestone Firehawk just prior to the start of the 2022 Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach.
Is the sun setting on Rosenqvist’s IndyCar career with AMSP? A strong second half of the season so far has made that choice difficult for team management. . .
Rosenqvist qualified fourth at Long Beach and ran in that position early on putting pressure on pole-sitter Colton Herta, eventual race winner Josef Newgarden and last year’s champion Alex Palou.
Life isn’t always a bed of roses in the super challenging NTT IndyCar Series. Trying to find your invisible apex through the fountain’s flower garden only adds to that challenge.
Rosenqvist is certainly up to that challenge as you can see his right front tire halfway off the ground and clipping his apex point perfectly!
The twists and turns and competitiveness of the driver throughout the season in total will determine a driver’s future. Will Rosenqvist be back in this car in 2023? He’s fast and a proven race winner. Only time will tell. . .
